Default Removing bumpstops on stock shocks.

Converted the plastic steering links over to aluminum the other night, and while I was at it I went ahead and removed the bumpstops on the shocks. Holy Hell!!! The difference is night and day! I have been wheelin a pile of rocks at my house for a few weeks, and I took it back out after removing the stops and couldn't believe the difference it made. This def a must do mod when you first buy a SCX.

Or you can remove the spring, spring cup, then take the shock end off. The bump stop will come off then. You can save it for later!

Do it this way! Cutting it off is for the lazy people.

Yep, just unbolt the shock from the axel, remove the spring stop and springs, then unscrew the rod end from the shock shaft, slide the bump stop off and reassemble. Took maybe 5 mins.

Taking off the bump stops works great unless you have a Lexan body you don't want to rip the hell out of with the tires.

+100

Unless you're trying to compete with your SCX-10, the stock shock setup works great for a scale rig IMO..

I only removed the bump stops from the rear suspension on my Honcho. It helped a lot and now the tire barely squishes into the flatbed. Even with the bump stops installed up front, the tires still rub; it would probably be much worse without them.
