Default Deliberately limiting articulation for the sake of scale?

I know the point of an SCX10 is to be a comp crawler in disguise but it costs less than rc4wd chassis' and carries hard plastic scale bodies quite handsomely, though not all can accommodate its full range of articulation. I've seen videos of CC01's do crawling just as well as SCX10's and I've seen rc4wd chassis whose articulation abilities are somewhere between a CC01 and an SCX10 handle things quite well. So here's what I was wondering: would it be completely missing the point to adapt an SCX10 to have somewhat less articulation so that it would work better with whichever scaler body I choose?

I get the feeling that by some schools of thought it would be kind of like when i had tutoring in college (the college provides it for free if i want) and i was working away at something and really in a groove and all of a sudden i was like "hey can i have a go at the keyboard?" and i just started typing away and the tutor was sitting there thinking "if he could do this on his own, why couldn't he just go to the computer lab and give this timeslot to someone who can really use it?"

The SCX10, as I'm thinking of using it would be kind of like a poor-man's rc4wd thing.

I'm not sure of what body I'd choose just yet but I think the above is how i want to do set it up. Am I nuts?

Nope, your not nuts. Build your truck any way that makes you happy. The whole point of this hobby is to have fun so, if limiting your articulation gets the look and feel you are going for then get on it.

X2, just have fun. The good thing with the SCX10 is you can get loads of different looks from the same kit. If you do something that doesn't look quite right just change it again.
Just look through some of the great build threads on here, thats what i did for inspiration.
