Lots of nice work and progression. I love the dedication you have to your rig to try out what you want.

Pretty good. They definitely need some Nova foams. Ran them with the stockers and 35* temperatures. Did better than I expected. I had a set in the early summer with Pro-Line memory foams (back with the Tacoma body (pg 1-6)), did quite a bit better. Kind of waiting on what RC4WD has to offer by spring time for new tires....

Next week, after finals, I'm going to make some XL 1.9 Rok Lox. I'm going to reduce my 2.2 Rok Lox down to 1.9, making the overall height 4.75" (which is the new max tire height for class 2 with the new rules). Hopefully I can get them cranked out on Tuesday/Wednesday. Not mine, just for reference... standard 1.9's (left) 2.2 cut down (right) Last edited by Gimp; 12-08-2010 at 09:00 PM. |

But I thought you were in love with the 2Faces. Guess you'd rather have a usable pair of Rok Lox on hand than none at all? Good luck on finals and the tires!

Looks good in both forms blue and silver. I'd like to see how they look with PL TSL's.

Thanks! The 1.9's are way to small and the 2.2's are way to big, sucks cause I'd rather have TSL's.

My XL 1.9 Rok Lox are done. Ended up at 4.75" tall and 1.875" wide, PERFECT! Just what I was aiming for. I just cut down the stock foams, I plan on picking up some Nova foams in the spring time. Tested them out around our pond in the snow for about 15 minutes. Thoroughly impressed with these tires. I was doing lines in the snow that the Two-Face's couldn't do dry. The extra 1/4" in height and 1/8" in width help a lot. Compared to normal 1.9 Rok Lox, the lugs are bigger and more spread out, giving more area and corners for the lugs to bite on to something. But enough babling, I know you want pictures.... |

The rig looks sick. The reduced 2.2's really set it off. Nice work!

Thanks alot guys! This is the first set of tires I've ever reduced. Took .94" of the inner circumference, which ended up taking 4 rows of lugs out, so the tread lines up perfectly. I guess if they survived my 20* test session, they should be good lol. You can see the seem in some of the pictures. I cleaned them up after the test so all the white residue is gone now. From what I've read, the seem will look better with time. I think this body is technically 1:8 scale. So the tires scale out to be 38" tall. On par for a bad ass 1:1 Bronco |
