Default honcho suspension

i was looking for some good shocks to use on a honcho i have been putting together. for the time being until i could get the correct length shocks i thought i would try using some stock ax10 shocks with droop setup. this seems to be working really well. it seems to climb and handle really good like this. i was just curious if anybody else has tried using this setup ?

i dont, mainly because i really dislike droop, its much less predictable and a little goofy to me, i ran ax-10 shock in droop on 2 diffrent rigs and never liked it and never couldnt climb the same vert that the same rig with a sprung setup would walk, it just couldnt keep it under control

I've been using the stock SCX-10 shocks, but I stack 3 of the smaller springs so I can tune the spring rate.

You could limit the down travel internally and put Losi White springs on them. This worked well for me before I put Traxxas big bores on.I personally dislike full droop setups.

I've been really pleased with the Gmade Transitions. You can run them internally sprung or droop and switching it up is pretty simple.

anyone run the losi shocks on their honcho? I have an extra set and was debating putting them, seems like they would work great. Not too "scale" looking but I imagine they would work.

Are you guys talking about powerstrokes?

I run those on my honcho and they're pretty damn good.

Actually, I really want to know what the big hoopla is about the powerstroke shocks, because as far as I am concerned they suck. I switched to the Axial 4" shocks and they are 1/2 inch taller when it is sitiing with everything mounted. They run smoth, dont leak and run well. But the stock shocks are nice too. But everyone keeps giving the powerstrokes applause and they are nothing in comparison to the Maxx or Shortcourse versions.

They work great for me and my stock ones were built right an performed well. I just think the prolines provide smoother motion and quicker response, they seem more realistic to me in movement. Of course you have to follow prolines instructions on oil levels, not saying you didn't, just a note to any who don't.
