Default A few questions.

Whats up guys. Planing on buying an scx kit (regular) soon and with it a dx3e and an fxr/35t combo. The dx3e includes a servo (S200) and it is rated at about 100oz. In. At 6 volts. Would this be good enough or should i go for something a bit more powerful? (Traxxas 2075, hitec 645mg) any input or reccommendation is welcome. Thanks

Mike.

Better to go metal gear from the get go and avoid issues. The traxxas servos suck and either strip gears constantly, burn out, or both.

250 oz. Sounds like way more than what i need. Im trying to build this on a budget so i may just buy a hitec 645mg and sell the spektrum servo. Thanks for all the replys!

250 is overkill on a scaler, unless ur plannin on weighing it down with lots of tube work. Metal gears are always a plus , but that will get you by till buget allows a better one. Just dont add tomuch weight and dont try to move rocks with it.

The Hitec 645MG is hands down the best servo for the dollar.

You can never have servo with too much torque.... Buy the best servo you can afford
I run a Airtronics 94780M in my Hilux (423 Oz/In @ 6v) and a HiTec 7955TG (333 Oz/In @ 6v) in my Honcho...

I agree with matt above. I have never put a servo too powerful in my scx. Having a servo with over 300oz of torque makes a huge difference in driveability.

While something around 150oz will work fine, more is always better.

I know you're not disagreeing That's why I always say: "Buy the best you can afford"
Tower Hobbies has a 333 Oz/In servo for $85 which is an alternative to "name brand" servos. I think it's actually made by HiTec, but I'm not sure...
