| SCX10 2.2 Work in Progress
20/87 gearing on 35T RC4wd Brushed Motor. First run on 1.9 Dirt Grabbers. I couldn't get out the stripped grub screw so I decided to run half a pack. Temp on the motor was 210 degress and ESC was around 140 degrees. Gearing is way too tall. This rig will be outfitted with 2.2"s soon so it's going through complete overhaul as soon as I can get the pinion off. 210 degrees on a brushed motor is waaay too hot. This combo will definitely not work on a 2.2 setup on my SCX-10. However since the grub screw is rounded out can I just run a smaller tooth spur? I have no dremel. |

run bigger spur and smaller pinion, of course 14t is about the smallest you will get on a 48p pinion and the bigger spur could be a problem if you are running MIP shafts, not that you are, just pointing it out

if the pinion will fit throught the motor moount plate take it off and buy a new motor them rc4wd are only 10 bucks or keep the grear and run a 93 tooth spur gear to gear it down
