Default Shane's SCX 2.2 Blazer

SCX blazer

Homemade frame mounted steering.
4 link front and rear, G-Made driveshafts (well see). Right at 11.25" wheelbase.
Proline floor pan with homemade electronics box. Very little trimming to get the floor pan under the blazer body.
I didn't use that much foam in the tires cause they are a pretty firm compound.
Sidewinder ESC, Scorpion HK 2221-12 outrunner, 11.1v lipo, BEC,
Winch will be on there sometime.

Updates later. Still lots of work to do. Anyways, pictures.
Yes, I know there is a double bumper up front, for now.

Tips, comments, suggestions.?

Default ready to go

Got all the electronics installed.

Sidewinder, 3S lipo, Scorpion Outrunner HK-2221-12, 20t pinion, Castle BEC. Just need to setup the battery mounts and mount up the blazer lid.

4lb 8oz RTR, minus body. Power to weight ratio is way in the power range.

Couple short videos in the shop uploading. I like the way these Swamp Dawgs bark.

I didn't paint it, or pick the wheels and tires but they do look good. I picked this up as a roller. Tore it all down, set it up for me and then starting putting it back together.

Video 1. This is probably not the most practical motor setup for this rig but who cares.

Video 2.

Yes sir, Should be some fun. I don't know how everything will hold up. I think the blazer body will take a beating.

Umm, none. I used this same motor/esc on my GMade R1. Great for mid-high speed but horrible on low end. A smaller pinion, like 9t or 10t would help alot but I will just switch to a 35t brushed motor if I wanna crawl with it sometime. I have a 20t pinion on it now.
And I would probably swap the dawgs out too for some crawlin'. My 1.9 tire setup should be here anyday.

Yep, Gets everything up and out of the way (for looks) and helps the flex a bit (more consistant) like any 4 link will.

I did the same setup on my cherokee. A little bump steer at full compression. But I ain't gunna worry about that. You do have to get the right position of the servo and servo arm length setup halfway decent, or things will bind while compressing. Just like everything. Test, modifiy, Test.

Same steering on the Cherokee here. Stole WarTraders setup, kinda.

Default changed wheels added wideners

Went with a different setup on the berg so the blazer got the ATi Turbines. They are berg offset but I had some wideners in the tool box. With the wideners it puts it back to axial offset plus 3-5mm wider.

Took it for a test run. The additional weight from the new wheels makes it handle better but I am going to have to drill out the axial diff output shafts so the driveshaft set screw will hold better.

Still rockin' the double bumper up front. Guess I will just paint it silver on the body or get another scx bumper mount sometime.

The 2.2 slingers definitely have a better compound for crawling and just feel softer overall.

I like the look of the swamp dogs. The swamp dogs have a decently soft sidewall but the treads are a lil too firm. The only foam i have in them in a small 3/4" x 4" slice of non memory foam. Just enough to hold it upright.

I like both tires. I have both. dawgs on this rig and an option setup of 2.2 slingers for the cherokee.

Another short video uploading.

ive got a set of 2.2 slingers myself, and they are really soft, I want to make a strict mudder truck and I bet the swamp dawgs would be perfect if they are a little harder
