Default Well I like it

I know I've said this several times but I built this for my kid. He's only 7 but drives pretty well but every time I make something for him that I've done a bunch of work on I stress out too much when he drives it. This is what I came up with.

Here's the specs
SCX-10 based with 4 link rear Axial Truss and Hand Bros CMS kit.
Dingo body with Dakar Rally look
Custom Delrin bumpers and sliders
Mayhem wheels and RC4WD Rock Crusher II's
Tekin FX-R, 35t Handwound, Hitec 5990TG, Castle BEC, 3s 1750 Thunder Power Lipo
3Racing with on off switch (he's burnt up a couple accidentally hitting the button before)

I think I'll paint up a more rally inspired body soon and it needs some front lights.

Front Bumper

Rear with tail lights

Sliders

Simple bolt on styrene covers

Breaking it in today

Looks like one kid was swallowed up by the rocks . I'm sure he'll have tons of fun with it. Good job on the truck, Dad!

I think the same way when i spend countless hours fabbing up the whole 9 yrds for my sons rig and then when he goes out and drives it he comes back to me and says " Dad, i dont know what happened but this came off". Oh well i guess its all part of the fun, NOT. But seriously, hes learning. Hes even moved on to a hardbody. Ive never cared for the Dingo body before but after seeing your approach to it makes me wanna look for one now!

I thought those were 2.2's for a bit, they look great. I still have my Dingo body sitting under my work table, I should get another chassis and build something with it.

Your truck looks good too (well your son's but we all know how long that's going to last lol).

Nice rig and cool scale mods. It really shows the scale potential of the Dingo body.

How funny; I just started a "I got it for my kid thread..." a couple days ago. These things are so flippin' fun!

I'm surprised she made it through the day without some sort of scrapes and bruises.

You're brave with the hardbody.

They do look big. I think it will be around for a while, I really like it.

I think the Dingo has tons of potential. I need to get a Landy decal kit for it somehow but I really like it already. I've done at least 4 build for my kid thread now. I finally like this one how it turned out being functional, durable, and looks great so it might stay around.

It looks like your kids are having a great time outdoors! I let my 7year old nephew drive the box stock SCX-10, he hasn't been able to do any permanent damage to it, but it's gonna be a while before he gets to drive the hard body 'Yota..
