Cool SCX 2 speed, should Axial make one?

How many SCX-10 owners would like Axial (or another vendor) to make a 2 speed tranny specifically for this rig? Personally, I think it would be a great option .

not trying to knock the idea or anything but what would be the point or benefit of having a "2 speed" SCX-10? I read a thread and someone mentioned they retro-fitted a Summit tranny which, i mean..cool idea but why?

so you can go slow or go fast.

anyways, I know someone that may build a 2 speed T case. This will be another option then using a summit tranny and it will be smaller in size then the big ole bulky summit case.

Yeah, spill it! Sounds like a promising option.

As for "why a 2 speed?", same reason full-size 4x4's have a hi/lo range gear selector .

Gosh 2J everytime you post, i cant help but stare and drool at your avatars. Is it the same person? Back to the topic at hand, yes spill the beans on the 2 speed. Id love one as well but the summitt tranny is just so huge. Bulletproof? Im sure but it takes up so much real estate. Now back to 2JSC's avatar!

Its not a guarentee as of yet, but Generis is working on an idea for a 2 speed T Case. Please dont bug him about it. I plan to work with him and see if it can be done well and at a good price.

that's the main reason why I voted Yes... Because I'd like to be able to have an interior still in my rig but have 2 speed at the same time...

Summit tranny is just too big....

I would like to see a transmission that can be mounted longways like a bruiser with a divorced transfer case. I like useing axial product because they are durable and affordable, but the way they are now they are a real pain to do this with.

I can't say I care much for the idea, but if you'd asked if they should do a leaf spring setup...I WISH!

Obviously, you haven't heard of rc bros. Go search the venors forums.

Yes, there is the RC4WD 2 speed. I believe it's set up with a much lower gear ratio though.

A shiftable T-case is even a better option than I thought of for this poll. That would solve a number of space issues. I really hope it comes about . The poll numbers speak for themselves.

2 speed tranny as in 1st gear Stock ratio, then 2nd gear for ripping around

Yes

With the Transfer Case do you mean so you can go from 2wd to 4wd?

That would be cool also.

the way i have my dig setup now basically is 2wd/4wd no Dig/fwd odd?
i know i mirrored the transmission but maybe i did something wrong to get this? lol but ya...it is cool! especially seeing as this rig is just a trail beater not some comp crawler.

Yeah a whole 45 people really speaks for itself

I have several Summit transmissions at home. They are huge but they are a durable pre-existing piece. I don't see Axial doing this because it's not really all that high of a demand (compared to say what a dig was when shaft driven trucks were decent comp rigs). There are tons of parts and kits that they can make and be more profitable at.
