What can get wet? ..... Man, phrasing a question like that is a red flag to a bull, or heard of |

But, to reiterate the question, obviously, the motor can take water. I know that ESC + H2O = Bad. I assume same with receiver? How do you waterproof the electronics? Excuse the ignorance, I should know this by now. | |

Ok, serious time... Running an electric motor full of water has the same effect as filling your car's engine up with 10 litres of oil. The crank has to fight it's way through the fluid instead of air, and will run slow and use more current. However, the water will drain pretty quickly so it's no big deal, in general. The stock RTR Honch motor is a sealed can style, like a Mabuchi RS540, right? They are the best kind to go play bush submarines (that was not a Freudian slip, really) with, because motors with hooded brushes can suffer from hung brushes. Particulates in the water can get between the brushes and hoods and jam them up. You are better off not trying to seal a motor. Water will get in and not get out. |
