Default What can get wet?

Ok. So I have waterproofed my servo.esc.and reciver.but now im wondering is it ok to get the stock motor wet on the Honcho SCX10? if not how can you waterproof it.

fill up your axles up with marine grease completly.. it will keep water out , preventing wear and corrosion..

You can dip your wick wherever you want, just don't share details please!

But, to reiterate the question, obviously, the motor can take water. I know that ESC + H2O = Bad. I assume same with receiver? How do you waterproof the electronics?

Excuse the ignorance, I should know this by now.

Ok, serious time...

Running an electric motor full of water has the same effect as filling your car's engine up with 10 litres of oil. The crank has to fight it's way through the fluid instead of air, and will run slow and use more current. However, the water will drain pretty quickly so it's no big deal, in general.

The stock RTR Honch motor is a sealed can style, like a Mabuchi RS540, right? They are the best kind to go play bush submarines (that was not a Freudian slip, really) with, because motors with hooded brushes can suffer from hung brushes. Particulates in the water can get between the brushes and hoods and jam them up.

You are better off not trying to seal a motor. Water will get in and not get out.

Well ive been driving threw the mud and everything and threw the water and nothing has happend.*knock on wood*
