Default My Honcho turned Commanche

Hi eveyone, I'd like to show off my new Axial Honcho. I started with the RTR version since this is my first hobby-grade R/C. Right now its more of a basher than a crawler, at least until I build a course in my backyard. I ran it with the stock body til I got the Proline Commanche painted, and I must say that for my first lexan body, I'm almost satisfied. I've built plastic model kits for years, and the first thing I learned about painting those versus lexan is to throw everything you know out the window. I should've known I wasn't going to have any luck with the Pactra paint I chose, since I never had any luck with Testors products. The bed didn't turn out well at all, so I painted the outside with some red oxide primer to give it the weekend wheeler look. I think my next body will be a hardbody. I'm very pleased with its out of the box performance. But, I eventually want to get aluminum suspension and steering links, waterproof it and upgrade the motor. I've already lowered the battery, removed the bumpstops, and made a new base and made the antenna look like a CB whip.

First up is the mandatory poser shot:

And some bashing

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!

Looks good. I like the bed and how it turned out. If you bash it pretty hard more then scale drive and crawl then I would stay with the plastic parts as they flex on impact. Also the lexon bodies work better for bashing but will say a hard body is alot of fun to have. There never ending..lol
Great work so far keep it up
