Default Scx10 issues

I have a box stock rtr honcho and the front drive shaft has broken twice. The screw always comes loose and falls of when im driving it. I still have the screw but it isnt screwed in anymore. Today the plastic piece broke after i used lock tight. What should i do or what am i doing wrong? Should i buy aftermarket metal ones?*
