Ok guys I am sure there have been plenty of threads on this and I am sure I could take the time to sift through all of them! But.. Anyway I am going to order tonight and figured I would start a thread and make it a build thread once it all got here.. Going to order the SCX10 Honcho Kit I'll probably slap a 4PK Rx or M11x Rx in there. I have a few Hitec 645's laying around so for now I'll use one of those.. Questions... 1- What Motor & ESC should I get? 2- Lipo or NIMH? 3- Any Upgrades I should buy right away? 4- Anyhting Else I should get? 5- Rims/Tires or Stock out of the box worthy? I plan on doing a lot of off road, a little water here and there, maybe some sand dune and salty area's since I live on Long Island.. Thanks fella's... |

I'd add a 4 link truss (r2j) for the rear axle and some 6x106 Axial pipe.

im with MFISHR on this one, i would have told you the exact same thing with a 30 or 35t HH motor, and 4-link the rear, lower the front battery tray, weight the wheels, and remove the bumo stops from the shocks

I just bought the tekin fxr with a 35t motor and so far the thing has really impressed me. The drag brake is excellent!

Thanks guys!! Well the SCX10 is ordered, should be here next week. I will use the Traxxas XL-15, Hitec 645.. If I can use a Lipo with the XL-15 what should I go with? 2s or 3s? I am guessing 2s.. |

Lipos ftw. That's all I use in my scx10. And if ya want to save alittle more for awhile use the stock wheels and tires. They work great. I vote the tekin esc with tekin 35t motor
