Default New SCX10 owner

Man, this rc scale crawler stuff is sick. I used to have a modded Wrangler that Id sometimes wheel, but bein my daily driver I didnt want to break stuff. Now I can relive some of the excitement! Ive been into nitro monster trucks for awhile but love the looks & ideas that the scale crawlers have brought out! Took my new Christmas present to myself out last week fried the stock ESC. Dont care to much for the stock radio either, I replaced it w/my 2.4 unit, now it actually goes slow enough to crawl & doesnt twitch. I trimmed the body & had to raise the fender flares cause the tires rubbed. Relocated the new Traxxas ESC & receiver box to the rear, placed the battery up front-better weight distribution I thought. Tryin to resize pics to add.

Ok, some pics up. I also took 2 of the spare lens covers &mounted where the headlights are, drilled a couple holes & added 2 more leds. These pics are w/the stock shocks. Im currently tryin to loosen up a set of RC4WD internals that i thoght looked awsome but are too stiff. So far, Ive polished the shaft w/a dremel & removed 1 o-ring from the bottom. Now a trip to home depot to hopefully get some springs.

When I took off the fender flares to raise them, I thought it would look good to paint the bolt heads silver. Just used some aluminium color model paint to add to the appearence of real ones. I didint have any luck @ home depot but I did @ the local hardware store w/a set of springs. I used a 500 grit sandpaper, then polish wheel on the dremel w/a bit of polish. Put it all back together & a couple of drops of 35WT for some lubricity, man these are SMOOTH! Nothing like they were when I got them & got my flex back & then some. Good thing I raised the flares that little bit really helped & no rubbing.

Smile Extra Parts....

My son and myself have a TRAXXAS Revo, TMaxx and Jato and The SCX10 looked like a lot of fun so I got him one for Christmas. He's had a ton of fun with this thing. What is the best way to add weight to the axles and what is the bag of spare parts that came with it for?

I bought a battery tray @ Radio Shack that holds 2 AAA batteries. You might want to also wire in an on/off switch if youd like. You could always add an on/off switch, but I figure u gotta take the body off to turn it off so why bother, just take the batteries out. I guess u could use any size battery to power the lights. This way I can always add more lights later on & just splice into this.
