Default How to change a 1.9 SCX to a 2.2 ???

How do I change my SCX from 1.9's to fit 2.2S ? Is it as simple as changing to longer shocks?? Thanks in advance.

Swap the 1.9 wheels for some standard Axial offset 2.2 wheels. Don"t have to change shocks.

I know that sounded like a stupid question but what if I don't have the height/clearance for the 2.2s ??

Then you have to change something else...shocks, cut the body, etc.

The only difference b/w a 1.9 and 2.2 is the wheel size.

Ok, that's what my question was asking.......... Do I just need to changed to longer shocks or will links need to be changed as well?

links will be fine. I converted my AX10 to a Honcho. When I first did so I kept the 2.2s and put stock scx shocks. I had to hack my body pretty bad and still had rubbage. I also had to switch wheel hexes to 12mm... Im assuming the AX10 is 14mm? I cant post pics from my phone or else I would lol.

So just to be clear..... if the stock SCX shocks are 90mm, all I'd need to do is swap them out for say 110-120mm shocks and then swap to the 2.2s? Sorry, it's early and my brain is still waking up.

If all you want is "lift" you can also try longer rod ends on the shocks or swapping to a longer shock shaft. Lots of shock shafts out there that are incrementally longer than the stock SCX10.

Sounds good. My plan is to build a SCX with a Toyota body on it and want to use 2.2 proline TSL or Rok Lox. It's the look my daughter likes.... the build is for her.

I think it's being over analyzed. I have the stock scx10 kit and just bought some tsl 2.2 with non-offset 3racing wheels and everything is fine except for the body needing to be lifted up. unless you want the body to hug the tires in the wheelwell. even turning clearance is totally fine.

shocks have nothing to do with it.

Longer shocks provide more belly clearance and more fender well clearance.

Depending on your body and wheelbase, changing to a longer stock will alter the wheelbase some. It should shorten it some, so lengthening of your upper and lower links might be needed.

You can just raise the body but I didn't like how that makes you bumpers look. I changed to some 120mm shocks to get some lift so I could keep the fender flares. Just a little triming on the bumpers and flares and your good to go.

true. and if you want the bumpers matching up still. I meant the body can just go up without paying the extra $$ for shocks just for tire upgrade.
