| Monsterman's SCX10 Build
Well this was my first Scale Crawler Kit build and all I can say is what a lot of fun.. It was a nice change too. I've been doing the 1/5 Gas thing "mostly Hpi Baja's" for so long I almost forgot how much fun a kit was to build and put together.. Took me about 3 days to get completed, mostly because I do Dialysis 3 days a week and after my treatments I am cooked.. But the day after is usually good and thats when I got most of my building done. At the moment I have the following installed but those things might change. I had these all laying around as spares but I think I will make some changes soon.. ESC- Traxxas XL-5 Motor- Axial 55T "Fleabay Deal" Hitec 645 Truck is completed stock as it sits, bought the paint today, going to go with a Green Cab, Chrome Bed "simple paint job" Not sure what hop ups just yet but I have been putting together a HUGE LIST.. Have some Ramtech RC Led lights coming. Light Controller from Killer RC Battery for now will be a NIMH Stick Pack but plan on getting a Max Amps 3s and a Castle BEC.. Going to keep the Hitec 645 I am pretty sure that will be more then enough.. I might swap the ESC & Motor for a Tekin XR-5.. I've been doing some reading and just saw a cool video on You Tube "install video" that combo looks pretty good. And I liked the programming menus. I am going to order some Pro-Line Powestroke Shocks. Does anyone have any experience with these Shocks from "ToughRacing.Com"?? G-Transition Shocks http://www.toughracing.com/zc126d/in...image&pID=1794 Also saw these Universal Drive Shafts that look pretty good.. http://www.toughracing.com/zc126d/in...image&pID=1396 And these not to expensive beadlocks.. http://www.toughracing.com/zc126d/in..._image&pID=686 And I am undecided on either DarkSoul Beadlocks or Pro Line Tetius Beadlocks and some other tires.. *Also before I forget.. BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE Members who either replied or helped me out Via PM or email on the build, parts to get and all my newb questions.. I hate feeling like a newb and being a newb.. I used to have a HPI 5B also and have way more fun crawling. I have the HiTec 645 on a SCX10 and like it good servo. The DarkSoul wheels are great see if you can still get some for the $50 deal. I think there are a few in the for sale section

Hey guys I'm looking at the Pro Line Floor Pans, which one do I need to get for the Honcho, both say SCX10 but one species Honcho.. I am not sure which is the right one? I am assuming it matters due to what Wheel/Tire size you are running?? I am thinking I need to get this one though. http://prolineracing.com/bodies/pl-c-floor-pan/ Also has anyone mounted up their Interior Kit? http://prolineracing.com/bodies/pl-c-interior/ |

You'll need the longer one for the Honcho, however it doesn't really matter, as you'll have to chop it down and use the front only. Check out my thread below for what I did with mine. The front end also needs to be cut off around the headlights/grill. Sith's new Honcho Looks like you've got some good plans there. Keep us posted. |

Good pick up on the Beadlocks. I'm in the market for some too. They are cheap! Not sure on the +8.5 offset. Can other members comment whether this will be an issue?? What is that online store like? Good expereince with in-stock items and delivery?? Cheers Ian | |

Watch the Junfac drive shafts, some have found the rears to be to short? I think most people like running the MIP's for the AX10 which should be the right length. Build looks like it's coming along great........keep the pic's comin |

Well I added a few parts the last few weeks. Local hobby shop had a sweet deal on a full set of Titus 1.9 Bead Locks so I went and grabbed those, had to re order them due to missing hardware so I'm waiting for them to show.. Thanks to masman here on RCC my Honch has a new lid, I suck at painting and really messed my stocker body up. "Thanks Mike"!! I have a few more idea's on what parts I want to get but thats going to wait.. Future Upgrades 90mm Shocks "Aluminum probably Axial" 4 Link Links & Truss Set Up "R2J" Derlin Beadlock Rings Dig Unit "not sure which" Aluminum Bead Locks at some point.. "Probably DarkSoul" Tires.. Undecided.. Here's some new pictures |
