Default Premierscaler's Comanche project.

I got an Honcho kit, a driver and few other parts.

Here is the part list.

Pro-Line 1992 Jeep Comanche Body
Pro-Line floor pan
Pro-Line interior (for now)
R2J 4 link truss
Hand Bros. Honcho CMS kit
King Kong hook
3Racing winch
CC BEC
Hitec HS-7955TG servo
Tekin FXR + T45 handwound combo
Tekin Hotwire

2S or 3S not sure yet.

Here is the pics of what is done so far....

I had to modify the front bumper to fit the winch.

I cut off the body front bumper.

I also had to trim the front inner fenders to make sure the tires don't rub in full flex.

With the servo mounted on the chassis, I had to put the battery plate somewhere else. So I did my own battery plate and I mounted it right next to the front inner fenders.

Any comments are welcome.

To be continued..............

I didn't do any test run yet, but a few "handmade" flex test and the front tires rubbed in the front part of the inner fenders as soon as I turn the wheels a bit (left/right) at full flex.

Yeah i too get rubbing at full flex and turning at the same time, and my tires are fairly moderate as i run om Dick cepek tires from rc4wd.

Regarding the floorpan and fit, i think the comanche body and the floorpan are made for each other, IMHO the floorpan used with the stock body have a poor fit in the front and in the back of the wheelwells out towards the body.

To fit the floorpan in the 83 Ram charger CGR from pro line, the rear part of the floorpan need to be cut and moved in a little.

PS: regarding the batteries i run 1300 mah -3S on my 45T from tekin and its all good, however i want a 35T motor too soon.
I get plenty of runtime on my maxamps batteries even in -16 deg C temperatures

What exactly did you use to join the upper links to the RJ2 4 link truss?

It's Undertaker (WWE) from Mattel, I found mine at Wal-Mart. It is a perfect fit to me. It's 7.5 inch tall......1:10.....6 foot 3".

This is coming along well! I am wanting to do something similar (at least body-wise) to my SCX-10. I like the truggy look so I will likely choose the Comanche body too. I'm staying subscribed to this one! Nice advertising work with the Undertaker too!

The more that I see this body the more I like it, it might be time to retire the Honcho body.

I just ordered the same body with the bed that fits the honcho cage last night. I got the floor pan as well , I think it will be worth the tire rub as much as I use my truck in the snow and mud.
