Well that is a pretty general question seeing how broad of a selection there is and choices you wanna make. 1) Are you on a budget if so how much? 2) How slow of a crawler do you want? Those a really the two biggest factors in my opinion, and 3) Are you wanting to do comps or just screw around with it to have fun. Also keep in mind there is a huge selection of motors to run, generaly what I see ran is anything from a 35t motor up to a 55t motor ( when it comes to a brushed system). What I run on my scaler is a novak rooster esc that in my opinion has a killer drag brake, a venom 55t modified motor, and a hitec 645 servo. I also bought a traxxas 2.4ghz 3 channel radio off ebay and modified it for a center position switch so I can run my winch which saved me a little money seeing how at this time I dont wanna break the bank with a spectrum radio all that said this is how much I spent (ball park)

Novak rooster off ebay= $80
hitec 645 from hobby shop= $34
Venom 55t motor off ebay= $17
Traxxas 2.4ghz three channel radio off ebay= $60

Hope this kinda helps

Great suggestion. The other thing I would say is to determine of you want waterproof, if so the Traxxas 2075 server on a honcho with 1.9s is good and an HH ESC can be had for a little more money and will add 3S and up LiPo with waterproofing.

Yes you can use your electronics from your traxxas.

I'm sure it will work for a little while, that 55t motor will help with the slow part. I would get a better esc, and like what was mentioned with a 1.9 tire that traxxas water proof servo will work well for you. But what are your actual plans for this rig?

Gotcha well have fun with it But trust me some how by unexplained means people have often tried to investigate it, some just plain cant believe it but scale crawlers will drain your bank account so watch out
