| Planting the front tires...
What's the secret to getting the front tires to grab and pull my rig up rocks? I have some big rocks in the yard that don't have that steep of approach and when I get the front up to where the rear wheels meet the rock, it just won't climb anymore, the wheels turn but will not bite. They are not out of control size rocks, they would be to scale like climbing a 1:1 up big granite out croppings that are half underground and half above. If you've been on Pardoes Trail towards the end where Mud Lake is where it meets Hwy 88, there is big granite next to the water. I have my battery pack up front, and 3 oz. of weights in each wheel (incl. the rear). Is it because I have the rear wheels weighted that I'm having this issue? |

well if you want my thoughts its probally your tires and ground clearance 1st make sure it isnt bottoming out 2nd go for some better tires and wider tires will work better but might take off of the scale looks 3rd you might not have enough wheel speed and 4th u might kill me for sayin this but it could just be the line you r picking but as you drive it more you will get better on pickin your lines |

What tires are you running on your rig? I run the Proline 1.9 Flat Irons with every other lug in the tire cut off for better traction and 3-4 oz of weight in each from tire... Very rarely do I have that kind of problem... Also, what type of battery are you running? |

Do you have a picture of your tires with the lugs cut out so I could get a better understanding? The battery is a Venom Power 3000mah 6 cell. | |

theres pros and con's to this suggestion but drilling a small hole on the inside of each rim will let the air escape and give traction when needed ..I have done this and run this way the cons are water can and will get in the tire and u give up some performance "side hilling"

my guess is tire compound... G8 flat irons rule. M2 which comes with the kit... not sure I have not tested em, but they feel harder.

I have the flatiron m2's on the rigs I run with 2.2 memory foams narrowed a 1/2 inch and 6 oz of weight in each front and 4 oz in each rear and they perform great. I've run g8 flatirons before and they do great also but once you break in the m2's they perform just as well. Now get out there and wear those tires, Maybe leave the weight you have in the rear and add a little weight to the front Hope this helps.

My truck likes to do a wheel stand on steep terrain. My old scx10 does much better with standing up. So many little things come into play here.
