have you taken the bump stops out? if not, do it. you can bring the shocks to the rear cross member drill a hole and put them there. but putting a longer shock shaft in the shock body will not help, the only thing it will do is raise your COG. the length of the shock body wil limin how far it can travel as well as the stock shaft is as long as it can be. a correctly built shock wil also let you get the most out of your shock. but if you feel you need more flex (NOT ALWAYS A GOOD THING) you can add longer shocks but i would not go with a shock over 100mm (stock shocks are 90mm) |

Already took the bump stops out that helped a little. Are saying to bring the top of the shock in-between the frame rails? |

my scx10 felt a little stiff in the rear especially so I just put some of the red long springs on rear and softened it up nice. gained some flex but not out of control flex

| detach the bottom of the shock from the axle as well as the top from the shock hoop. then remove the springs by pulling up and out on the spring cup. then hold the gold shaft with pliers (twards the bottom of the shaft and wrap the pliers with elec. tape) and unscrew the rod end and pull the bump stop off, and reassamble |

Are you runnin any weight in the wheels? The more weight the better it will flex to its potential. Add a little bit of weight to the fronts and try it out, if you want more, add more but then start adding to the rear as well keepin the fronts a little heavier. On my big tire setup I like the fronts to weight 10oz tire, foam, wheel and weights and the rears to come in around 6-7oz. On my 1.9s I like to be around 6-8oz up front and around 3 in the rear. Remember, too much flex, altho pretty in pics can HURT performance so find what works best and then work on your driving skills. Matt |

I have the 1.9 Baja claw TTC tires on my honcho running 7 ounces in the front and 3.5 rear. I build 1.1 jeep crawlers and I build them with limited up travel and significant down tavel on my jeep i have 14inch coil overs and it set up for 3" up travel and 11" down it sits at 5" of lift over stock with 38" swampers on it trying to match The flex to my scale rig. |

You gotta tell these new guys correct info, yeah? So when they hopefully use the SEARCH, they know what to look for. |

if you want tons of flex and capability you should have built a comp crawler. while the scx10 is a very capable scaler... it's a scaler made to look like a real rig and not a moon buggy like comp crawlers. I think the stock shocks are pretty decent. too much flex is a bad thing anyway. the springs are axial optional http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/ax30205.htm |

Like i said before i am trying to make it just like my jeep. In my job i build customers jeeps and comp rigs and my daily driver jeep crawler flexes better and has more flex than all of the the comp rigs that have I have built or that i have came across in crawling comps. And my jeep always wins the RTI comps. |
