| How to Waterproof your SCX10
We have received a lot of questions over the years on waterproofing our SCX10 line of trucks. So, I have been working on an article that covers waterproofing for our customers. Here's a link to that article. Link: http://axialracing.com/wordpress/201...of-your-scx10/ |

Great writeup. I like the way you stated if you are going to run in water above your headlights, to get a snorkel. |

Good ideas and write up. I ended up using a combination of boxes from the shack and liquid tape. The servo got waterproof grease on the gears and the other side was super glued. So far I have not had any issues and the rig has been in over the roof. Wes |

Awesome write-up. Thanks for the tips. I need to get my cc sidewinder set-up so I can put it in the balloon and not have to reprogram it.

Love the note about the Hi Quality Snorkel.... I remember ballooning a home made boat 20 years ago, technology hasn't outstripped common sense, good to see, and well written. Nice work Mr B. |

Are people still ballooning the hitec 985mg even though it says its waterproof? My traxxas 2218 and fxr fits great in the receiver box with a bit of trimming. |

Good write up But do any of you have problems with the esc over heating I run a rooster esc and it says its " water ressitant" so... would it be worth it to wrap it up in a balloon?

Good write up, pretty much what I do, except I use a condom instead of a balloon. Much easier to stretch over the electronics. Just make sure to use a new one and wash it out and dry it well.

I do not understand why people would protect their esc inside a baloon. The esc could get hot ( for what sort of reason that may be ) and the baloon will melt onto the esc. ( I have seen it happen ) I think it would be wiser to put the esc in a waterproof box. |
