| Best 1.9s for comp crawling?
I am currently running 1.9 RokLox, and seemed to work fine over the weekend, but my son has the stock Flatirons and I was thinking of upgrading them. Are the TSLs better on the rocks than the Lox? Or maybe a comp tire vs. the more "scale" tires? These are on Honchos, btw.

you'll get a vote for half of every tire out there, everybody has one they like and work for them. personaly my vote would be for rok loxs or the new boggers! i have had great luck with both! I like the boggers for everything, and really shine on the trails where the digging ablity helps climb hills and the hight gets me over everything! but the rok loxs are a little more rock friendly as they have better side hill and just tend to do a little better on the rocks. as for the new baja claws from RC4WD i dont think they are the best tire suited for trails and mud because tread looks closer together and that will hold more mud (the boggers clean VERY well for a 1.9), but would do fairly good on the rocks. |

I prefer Flat Irons & TSLs to Rock Lox for most situations. I just feel that the Rock Lox compound isn't as good. A true comp tire would perform better but then you lose the cool scale factor so what would the point be of having it be a scale truck? |

I have a mostly stock SCX10 with weighted (3 oz per front wheel) flat irons and i go everywhere on my rock course that the more modded trucks with taller tires do. It takes a little more throttle sometimes but i get it done. The only issue i have seen is the reduced break over angle with th shorter flat irons. Here is a good illustration of what i am referring to. The hard body Hilux is mine and had the smallest tires of the bunch that day. Full disclosure: We had just finished building the course and the rocks were dusty when we shot this. from Cody Jeffries on Vimeo. |

You guys killed it this weekend I just switched from flat irons to tsl's and will be going back to flat irons or rox lox the tsl's got hung up easy, guessing due to the width and they are super soft, tore a sidewall after two runs just my 2 cents Hope to see ya both at the next gtg/comp |

You should get some MT's for you son. Those things are beast on the rocks even when they are wet. I would recommend getting the MT's... |

B4 you spend the money try cutting out every other lug of the flat irons. We have a few local guys who didn't want to spend any $$ and did that and they mentioned how much of a difference it was. I've got rok lox, tsl and the new mt claws. Love the tsl's but they are just too short but will work great on my mrc samurai. A lot of great choices from RC4WD now |

I just added the mickey thompsons from rc4wd to my honcho, and I love them. they do clean out pretty well especially with 35 turn motor, and they are excelent on rock. The added clearence is by far the biggest benefit! just my .o2 |
