Default Wraith Transmission fit on a SCX-10?

been looking at the Wraith and this got me thinking... the tranny on the Wraith looks very familiar kinda like the ones in the SCX-10 and AX-10 except with a dig option. Does anyone know if this will be a bolt on fit?

Yes, the transmission will be a direct bolt on replacement to the AX10 and SCX10 line of products.

You may need to adjust the length of the drive shafts to accommodate the longer transmission, but we will also be offering the new drivehafts as an upgrade option to the AX10 and SCX10 line as well, which will include additional lengths of driveshafts for a perfect fit on the AX10 or SCX10 using the new transmission.

The Wraith transmission uses the same gears as the previous transmission, with the exception of the dig components.

It also includes all steel cross drilled outputs to work with the new driveshafts.

Sorry, no ETA of the transmission or Wraith yet.

For those that are wanting to just update their outputs to the new cross drilled style the part numbers needed are below:

AX30435 Steel Outdrive Shaft Set (2pcs) (this will upgrade any standard transmission to steel outputs with cross drilled holes - it will work with the new driveshafts as well as the older style)

AX30408 Input Shaft 5x29mm (2pcs) (this is the cross drilled output shaft on the axle side - this works with the older style driveshafts as well)

AXA0175 Screw Shaft M3x2.5x11mm (10pcs) (this is the screw shaft that replaces the M3x3mm setscrew previously used to hold the driveshafts to the outputs. This part WILL fit on older driveshafts as well.)

also the specs i see show the wraith at one inch wider than the ax10, are the axles them selves an inch wider or is that mainly the offset of the wheels?

The Wraith uses the same offset wheel as the XR10, so the axles are quite a bit wider than the XR10.

Sorry, no info on separate axle kits at this time.

Can't wait for the Wraith to come out Axial. CKRC has them available for pre-order.

Excellent news, and not a moment too soon. I had just yesterday placed an order for some parts for my AX10. The order also included steel outdrives that I was planning to drill myself. They were on back order though, guess I can cancel those.

Now, if only these new parts were available for purchase today that would be awesome.

I'd also like to upgrade to those offset axles eventually too.

I asked RPP Hobby and they said, "We have not been given a definitive date. So I can not speculate at this time until I get something concrete. Thank you, Corey"

I'm surprised people can preorder but they don't have a definitive date yet.

This happens all the time, welcome to the real world. The speculative date is May, but things can happen. If your worried, don't preorder.
