Default ScX10 UNIMOG "Wilma"

Well I was another builder who just had to have a Unimog after seeing the two that JustZach built. So I've been reading every Unimog thread I could find and this is what I've come up with......my kids have dubbed this crawler....."Wilma"

Here is a breakdown of the rig:
Axial Axles (Overdriven front, XR10 chubs/knuckles/axles, Beef Toobs)
One off axle truss/4 link mount
One off steel chassis brazed to SCX10 frame rails (5/32 solid rod)
One off panard/3 link
Proline powerstroke shocks
Tamiya Hummer wheels
Tamiya Unimog body
RC4WD 1.9 Roklocs
KC_JoNes light kit (x2)
One off wood bed and ammo box
JR 9100S Servo winch
Savox Steering servo
RC4WD hook and fairlead
Axial light buckets
One off spare tire mount
Proline accessories
Axial interior items

I have never brazed before but thanks to all the Great info on this site I was able to get all the tools needed to begin. I started with the axle truss and was amazed at how easy it was to do......sorry no pic of just the truss.

So I'm VERY bad about taking pics during fabrication so this will be a build thread done during assembly after paint!

Here is the chassis I came up with...........

Then with the skid and lower links.......

Added wheel wells, trans/motor and side panels........

Here it is as a roller with a battery holder. That's a 3s 5000 mah battery crammed in there

Added delrin servo mount to hold the winch and steering servo.......

Here are a couple teaser shots taken during fabrication......

I don't know......are you and travis going to put some on? I really have no idea how to put on/run a scale comp. Whoever steps up to run them will have the use of ALL the clubs resources! hint hint

Not happening.......we'll never get rid of the comp rigs but I wouldn't be opposed to splitting it up next year to have half comp and half scale

Just need some dedicated members to step up and take the scaler reigns! .....I'm too busy to run it all!

Dude, for a cherry braze job that thing is dope!

Your lines are clean and square, I love the layout and the rear end tow hook is a nice detail.

Only thing I don't dig is the paint on the bed. I personally think that a natural weathered finish would have been perfect.

Nice job

Thanks....I was thinking of staining/weathering the bed as well but decided to try it this way first. I can always sand and re-do later.

It did okay.....needs some weight in the front tires and some shock tuning. Comparing it to the stock Honcho I had it was a little top heavy. Might have to lose the HUGE battery. I probably just need to put some time behind the wheel

oh its getting the treatment all right.......I've been pouring details into the truck for the past two days......The Mog is looking a-W-esome now!

New pics tomorrow!

Woooohooo 1 week to AWCC.....can't wait
