I like the HH BRXL esc with a 27T or 35T hand wound on 3S.

Go ahead and do yourself the favor...order a waterproof esc... Motor depends on your intent for use. |

my setup: holmes hobbies brxl waterproofed esc http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...4&cat=2&page=1 holmes hobbies handwound 45t http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...&cat=17&page=1 on a 3s lipo http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-sl3300-3s1p-40c-3333.html I have put the truck some some hard driving and lots of fun has been had. check my build thread for pics my build thread here LEE'S scx10 honcho build (PIC HEAVY) I would prob go with a 35t for some more wheelspeed if I were buying again. My axles are packed FULL of grease for waterproofing so the 45t is a bit slow on my ride but can't go wrong with the holmes hobbies gear. VERY SMOOTH and top quality stuff Last edited by discgolferlee; 07-11-2011 at 10:30 PM. |

I have a novak goat 55t I aquired during a trade and am very happy with it thus far. I need to do some programming with it and re-gear my truck so it quits getting hot though. My next motor/esc combo will be a tekin f-r pro 35t for my other scx10. I would check that out or any HH set up. |

We are running a Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL and a 20 turn TorqueMaster Pro in my sons SCX10. Running a Poly RC 2200 3 cell. Running a 16t pinion and 87t spur. Crawls really well with a decent amount of zip for some fun bashing to. We were running the same ESC and battery but with a 10t puller. That set up was really good to. Wanted a little more wheelspeed, the 20t handwound seems to do really well. Best thing about the Holmes ESC, your pretty much open to any voltage you wanna run and you wont have to run an external BEC..... like you will with any other ESC..... Save yourself a lot of trial and error.......... just order a Holmes hobbies torque master br-xl speed control( WATERPROOF!!!!!!!) AND one of their (great) hand wound motors. They are rebuildable! Depending on what you want ..... speed?...... torque?...... They make what you want!!!!

Little piece of advice... No matter what motor and ESC you choose, do yourself the favor of replacing the stock drivelines with MIP drivelines... They're fairly inexpensive and WELL WORTH THE MONEY!! Theyre pretty much bulletproof and virtually indestructible! I'm currently running the Traxxas XL-5 waterproof ESC and the Axial 27t stock motor... I'm considering changing the motor to the new Axial 20t Wraith motor... Not sure just yet though. Hopefully this is helpful! BTW... welcome to the slow lane (SCALER WORLD) haha |

I stripped the ESC and RX out of my Honch RTR and put in a CC Sidewinder and Integy 35t. Working really well, and no heat issues so far. Hear a lot of good things about the Tekin FXR's though also. I already had a Castle Link, so I went with the Sidewinder.

im running an odd set up right now since my novak rooster quit on me. i am running the traxxas vellium esc with a 1350kv 450 class heli outrunner motor. despite not having drag brakes i am actually really enjoying it. very very little cogging with very low temps on 3s. tons of torque and speed close to maybe a 45t. best yet is fully water proof. the outrunner flings water and mud off of itself. did a mud bog yetserday and the only thing that was still clean was the motor i did happen to bind it up bad yesterday and stipped the screws out of the tranny too on some rocks Last edited by toka100; 07-25-2011 at 06:34 AM. |

Not precisely true. Some issues with the BRXL and Spketrum 3100 servos. After talking with John, I am running a CC BEC with mine. Although, if you are going to balloon it (after removing the fan), the CC MambaMax Pro is a nice ESC too (but isn't waterproof, i.e. reason for the balloon). It also has a programmable BEC built into it. Sidewinder, again needs ballooning, is another good option. All three are compatible with Castle Creation's (CC) computer link system. |

Mamba Max, 35t Integy motor, running 3c Lipo. It is a good combo. I think my motor is getting tired. Time for a refresh or a new one.
