Default honcho vs dingo

i was wondering if the longer wheelbase of the honcho makes it crawl better then the dingo or anything that works better from one rig to the other

The Honcho will climb verticals little better than the Dingo cause of the longer wheelbase but both are good platforms to start with.

It's almost an inch longer. In scale terms that is pretty substantial. That's pretty close to the difference between a 2 door and a 4 door Jeep in 1:1 terms.

They are both great platforms to start with without question. Figure out which body you want to run and get the one that will fit under it. By changing a few links you will have both wheel bases as well.

My first was a honcho, but didnt like the body, So i cut down my wheelbase to a Proline Blazer body and its shorter than a DINGO wb. The honcho in my opinion is a better climber/crawler with the longer wb. but in all 4-wheeling its give and take, Longer WB has advantages over short and visversa.

My second is a HONCHO with the longer wheelbase but havent driven it yet.

I'm a newbie to the RC world and I decided to spring for the Honcho over the Dingo for my first "real" RC. Why? Because I'm a TOYOTA guy
Like already stated, swap out some longer links to fit a different wheel well and you're set to run multiple bodies

I have the shorter WB kit and feel its about the perfect length:tire size ratio, at least when all stock.

The shorter wheelbase is better at clearing the breakover at the top of a climb, and the longer wheelbase is better getting up the climb. The SWB also turns a little tighter, which I appreciate.

i go with the honcho kit. chances are you wont have the same wheelbase for long as soon as you start modding your rig to your liking.

I agree with this. You will start modding and the kit is better choice, unless you can't afford the electronics. People talk about the aluminum links with the kit, but they are easily made if you go with the Dingo. And the Dingo comes with the the 4-link truss.

I would say go with either of the honchos because they have all hex bolts and it is easy to get all the makings for new links to suit any body. I have a rtr honcho and i would say go with rtr and uprade electronics along the way to suit your driving style.
