Default LDogg's JK Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited Builds 2 rigs, 1 thread!

I love jeeps, and after seeing the new bright builds here on RCC, I decided to make it a project at some point. well fast forward a year or so, and i have been bitten by the scaler bug. I have completed a honcho kit, bought 2 other honcho's and upgraded my dingo by turning it into a 2 Door JK. that's really what started this.

This thread is going to be for the 2 4 door Rubicon builds I am planning on doing. the first is a ground up build. I bought a chassis from RPP, along with axles and the aluminum links kit. I added Pro-line scaler shocks, RC4WD DC-2 1.9 beadlocks along with Baja claws. I plan on adding a BRXL, 45t TorqueMaster Expert, Hitec 7945, Hand brothers CMS, Dh fabrication JK bumpers, and other goodies along the way. Right now it's just a roller. I stretched the wheelbase to fit the new bright body, and I think it looks pretty good. I need to determine a mounting method for it, and pick up the electronics, but so far it's coming along nicely.

Next up is my other Wrangler unlimited Build. This is going on an existing Honcho that sits on Ripsaws. The wheelbase was stretched prior to this build, and aside from a coat of paint (the body in the pics is not the body I am using, that one is actually silver and red) there's not much else to do. this rig already has a CMS, winch and other goodies.

here are some additional chassis pics.
you can see the spacers I used to with the links.
upper links were 98mm, lower links were 106mm stock, front and back.
Spacers are 1mm on the uppers and 2mm on the lowers I think.

Wow, I've been waiting for these builds! I'm totally not a jeep fan but love the JKs. I love the plans so far and can't wait to see how they come alive. Subscribed!

waiting for DH Fab to finish a couple sets of Front and rear bumpers and a set of rock rails for the 2 door. also ordering some LED sets. Hopefully parts will be here today and I can mess with this over the weekend. need to measure once I get the tranny installed so I can order driveshafts.

Bumpers are in, and I picked up a couple single DC2 wheels for both of my jeeps. I am planning on getting the bumpers and tranny mocked up this weekend, along with the brxl and torque master motor.

Well my bumpers are in, and I am hoping to get working on it this weekend. Youth football has consumed most of my free time, as my 9 year old has 3-4 practices a week right now...

The dick cepek DC2's? No they bolt right up. I have a set on my 2 door wrangler which has axial axles too. Great looking wheels, and easy to mount tires up on.

thx.

the wife decided to do a major clean of the house and move rooms around yesterday. so I persuaded her to let me move my hobby area from the basement and into one of our spare rooms.

moved stuff around last night so I need to get organized... just ignore my mess of a work bench for now...

the jeep bodies are just leying on there for now. need to finish organizing the room, and I need to find an axial and HPI vinyl banner for the walls. not I just gotta keep the kids out...

Thanks! They fit perfect with the wider tabs. Just need to get time this weekend to mount them.
