I would go Hand Bros for CMS. That thing has bump steer written all over it with no panhard bar.

You get what you pay for.

Pay poor people prices, expect poor people performance.

That's why you make your own panhard bar. Problem solved

It seems that they just made a plate to mount the servo higher. It is still in the same plane as before. IMO, you could make something similar with a piece of delrin, if you have some.

I'm pretty sure the servos also mount differently on the chassis.

Your call, but I know that the Handbros kit is worth the money and it works.

My only thing is that I live in a shitty apartment right now (moving to spokane with an apartment that has a garage) anyways, I don't have the place to do that kind of machine work. The way I see it is, I put it together and see if it works. If not I send it back. Plus I have 2 kids and a wife so I have to be as cheap as possible.

You can chassis mount your servo using parts supplied with the scx10 there is a thread on here somewhere, I did it and it works fine and it's free

Yes I saw someone using a servo plate and someone else used only some servo mounts.
Super easy.

The one I did was using the original servo plate and works well, as I said there is a thread somewhere with step by step instructions.

From my reading up on this topic the Handbros kit isn't exactly the best thing ever. There are plenty of guys out there reporting less flex due to the panhard bar. Also is bumpsteer really a big deal on a crawler? It's not like the truck is doing 65mph speed runs and the bump steer caused by the right tire hitting a pebble causes the truck to whip towards a curb causing fiery destruction of the vehicle. Since the entire axle isn't going up and down all at once bump steer will be minor and easy corrected by steering input as the steer axle flexes.

The issue with bumpsteer in a crawler isn't about speed. It's about forced flex when crawling. I mounted the servo to the frame on a non SCX frame and I experienced the downside to not running a panhard bar. I was running a 4 link with a chassis mounted servo. When turning left the chassis would suck down towards the ground. When turning right the chassis would raise up. In certain situations it helped my progress in others it resulted in failure of completeing an obstacle. I couldn't use a Hand Bros. kit since I wasn't using axial axles or a SCX frame so I had to make the whole thing. Not to mention at speed if hitting a bump the suspension would compress and cause an abrupt left turn causing a misdirection and sometimes a rollover. Not what you want in a comp setting. I hope this explains why to run a panhard with a CMS kit.

So I got my CMS all installed and after a little tinkering and thinking some things through and a little math.......it works absolutely perfectly. It came down to using the stock spacer on the knuckle and the proper length servo arm. No bump steer even at full flex, lock to lock and nothing hits. Don't know what all the fuss is about with this kit. Best $14 I spent yet on this truck. LOL
