| Hot Racing 3 piece SCX10 Trans mount/skid
I've been using the SCX platform to build truggy's, flatbeds and tube chassis's since it came out. Since the first build I've wanted to powder coat my work but since the plastic used for the trans mount which houses the link mounts would most likely melt when baked in the oven to cure the powder coat. One day I'm browsing on Ebay when I found this Hot Racing 3 piece tranny mount. This allows me to cut out the factory piece and install the aluminum and delrin mount after paint or powder coating. Here's a link to the Hot Racing site to check it out. click here Here's my KOH Jeep with the skid plate/trans mount installed. This is a great product for the scale builder and hope it helps some people in their projects. |

If you clicked on the link it explains that the sides are aluminum and the center is delrin.

I did but my lingo is still sketchy. I mean I use delrin (delrons) on antennas which I know is fancy plastic so just wanted to be sure. Plus the pic from the link sucks so didn't help me I mean why would they post a pic that doesn't expand or a small one that is blurry as hell. So excuse me for wantin clarification |

| Ya the aluminum sides also have the small dowel pins like the factory skid. It does not have the ears for the upper link mounts. It does however come with some aluminum spacers to make up the lack of the ears. To install you just install the 2 aluminum pieces and then slide the delrin piece in between. The lower links and the tranny holds it in place. It's a nice piece. Bowtie, I'd love to see a rebuild of your Yota. I'm pretty tired of Yotas but yours is still badass. |
