Default Ford Raptor Scx10 from Alaska

extended the wheelbase last night so i can use my ford raptor body...

This is just to see how it would work tho. The body is from my Emaxx and will be used until I finish the project.
When it's ready, I will grab another body and paint it.

I have questions tho...is there a brand that uses a longer driveshaft? I dont feel like the way the shaft is safe enough to be heavily used right now. I will be testing tommorow.
But I still would l ike a longer driveshaft as I want to extend it about .25 of an inch more...

I know the body isnt good right now...but she'll be sporting this one for now

Id like to know your guys opinion tho...

If u r on a budget some traxxas revo(plastic) shafts can fit wit some little mods there is a tutorial on here,
if you got to funds I have hurd MIP shafts are the last shafts u will ever need

Test it first depends on ur driving style

For my kinda of driving plastic ones hold up just fine

I like the raptor body I will like to get me one for my scx10

Who makes that raptor body? It's for an emaxx. Do you have a part number? Nice looking body!

The Raptor body is cool. Definitely dig the 1:1 raptors and this is a neat take on it. I run the MIP driveshafts on my crawlers and they are absolutely bulletproof (after some locktite ). The stock ones on a stock honcho will last for a while. Just STAY CLEAR OF THE INTEGY SHAFTS. I bought them for my AX10 when I first got it, and they are the single worst driveshaft you can imagine, no amount of locktite would hold all the pins and things. If you have the dime, definitely get the MIP shafts.

I was able to extend the wheelbase a bit more by extending the driveshaft.

I took the driveshafts from my old stampede:

And cut the male part:

And I was able to extend it some more by using two male shafts and a female shaft in the middle ;).

Because of this I was able to extend the wheelbase some more and was able to trim and move the body where I wanted to.

I moved the body back about .25 of an inch. and lowered it by one hole:
And I also trimmed the front fenders to make it more symmetrical. (I hate it when it's not...)

Here are some pictures of the Raptor:

And a flex shot: (no rubbing!)

Just waiting on the new body now so I could paint it and some more drive shafts as I need to extend the upper rear links just about a bit more so make the angle of the shafts a bit better.

Wheelbase is 13.25" now. And liking it a lot better

Got the new body yesterday and prepped it for paint!

Here she is painted:

Not quite happy with the paint...but it is what it is for now. I'll try again when this one gets trashed up.

And Im thinking about putting the spare tire on the bottom instead of on the bed...looks cheesy especially how the bed is flat pretty much..

Let me know what you guys think

I think it looks great, the stock honcho bumper looks good too.

Only thing I would do is try to get the body as low as possible, may have to make up some new mounts...

Should drill some new holes in the frame and move back the rear shock mounts...

Other than it being a Ford (Raptor would be only Ford I'd buy), looks nice!

Lower the body until it just touches the tires during flex and move the rear upper shock mounts back, will help it climb better without falling over backwards.
