Default The Big Red Build Thread!

Hey guys. My self and onebdgti have been in the shop working on a few rigs. One just so happens to be my 1.9 scale rig, I had an ax10 plus i had a scx10 frame laying around. we got to talking and said lets make it happen so here we go!

List of items that was used in the build process -

Ax10 axles / trans
Scx10 frame
Losi 4in shocks
1.9 Rc4wd boggers w/ axial wheels
Proline 2 door Jeep body
3racing winch
DH Fab 2dr jk sliders
Tough armor spare tire carrier
Tough armor winch mount and grill guard
6mm Brake line
8/32 all thread
revo rod ends
Few scale items i had laying around

Electronics;

Team CS built 35t motor
Novak rooster
hitec 645 servo
dx3r
3s lipo

On to pictures... Everyone loves pics!

Here we are working on the custom links

Next up we mounted the wheels up, which makes it a roller

We get that lined out and squared away. Time to mount up the body to see how she fits

Next will show the mounting of the Front and rear bumpers. Even mounted the spare tire

Ok Now we have the somewhat finished product and how it sits as of right now. I didnt get pictures of the painting process ( i know i suck) but it happens so here are a few pictures oh how big red is sittin

Another:

Ok So onebdgti said to me hey reed u got them 2.2 tsl's Throw them on the jeep! i laughed said im staying 1.9... Ahhh what the heck! lets see what she looks like on 2.2s

The Monster jeep!

Ok folks thats all for right now. got a few more things to do to get this a runner so stay tuned!

paint looks good man! one thing that i think all JK bodies need though is the window linings made black. here's how i did it:

black vinyl stuck to the window. cut out along window lines. remove excess vinyl

Update:
Lastnight got the light buckets mounted in the body with hotglue gun. Then put the lights in the buckets and glue'd the wires up

Got the motor built lastnight as well just a little 35t

Got a project box from radio shack, got it mounted to the chassis all the holes drilled and electronics set in place. Got to extend the winch wires so that the controller can be in the box as well then seal it all up. Im kinda a neat freak when it comes to wiring

Also made some steering links out of the brake line i had extra from making the links it self. Get the all thread cut and put them together and mount it to the truck

Thats all for now, got a few more things up my sleeve

o cool and those are the stock axial lights right? you dont have worries about possibly blowing up a led light? unless this has already been done and still working to this day im not sure..
but i have had a led blow up on me because i had to much power going to it.

(not on a rc, im new to the whole tinkering aspect of hobby grade rc cars, i was only 6 when i got my first RC10GT and a OG TC3, man i wish i knew what i had back then)
