Default Drive shaft meets Rear Diff housing

Hi, got an rtr honcho which bit by bit am slowly kev'ing up. I've fitted the Junfac drive shafts now and noticed about 3-4mm 1/8" of play now were the drive shaft connects to the front and rear diff housing input bar.

Does this matter having not seen the inside of the diff section yet. I tried to surprise that input bar when attaching the drive shaft but it always see's me coming and pushes in x amount then when I do up the grub screw and pull it wehey theres play again.

So do I need to take apart the diff housing and hold the culprit in place or does that play have no affect internally?

you'll have a little play, it's unavoidable

about the only thing you could probably do to reduce it is after you slide the yoke on and before you tighten the screw to hold it to the input shaft, while still holding the yoke to the diff housing with the input shaft inside it, give one of the tires a few quick jerks forward and backwards. that might push the pinion gear and input shaft out a little because of the way the gears mesh

but I wouldn't worry about it either way

Cheers buddy, it sounds smooth and slick, but needed to check.
