Default Uncle Bob's '73 Chevy 4x4

New Honcho TR (all stock for now) with Proline 80 Chevy long bed. On the body I cut the front bumper off and trimmed the front fenders a bit. I think they look better that way. It's painted to match my uncle Bob's Marine Turquoise 1973 Chevy 4x4, at least the way I remember it 30 years ago. The color is a custom mix of Faskolor Fasescent Teal, FasYellow and FasChrome with Pactra True Blue Pearl and Black. Then backed with Pactra Silver and then Krylon Fusion flat black. Also painted stock Walker Evan's wheels silver. I am really happy with how it turned out. Enough poser shots, now time to get it dirty!

Love the color and rim/tire combo. Very clean indeed!

Very sharp! Like the painted rims, makes the the truck and the body makes it my favorite so far.

Yeah, this is my favorite body for these SCX10's. I was on the fence with the wheels when I first got the truck; I didn't like the black with the chrome ring. But, after painting them, they really stand out better.

I like your black short-wide. Reminds me of a half-cab Blazer

That molding stripe was called a spear head; it came on some of the cheaper Scottsdale trucks. I just used automotive pin-stripe tape and razored the tip; worked perfect. I just need to find a way to put a thin silver outline around it to be accurate.

Very, very nice truck. Have the same body on mine, though I wish they made a stepside (or at least included the proper decals because the K10 and the K5 aren't the same thing! ) so I could replicate my truck. Those Walker Evan's wheels look perfect on it.

Yeah, I also wish they made round headlight decals instead of the awkward square ones. 1980 was the worst year, style-wise, for the chevy pickup.

Yeah, it was the crossover year for them, from round to square headlights. I much prefer the round 73-79 trucks, but maybe I'm just biased. Sometimes I wish I wasn't in this hobby so I could spend more of my money on my full size. It's in pieces right now.

73-79 are my favorites also. The advantage of this hobby, though, is if it rolls down a mountain you can just brush it off and try again. That is, after you get your full size running to get you there

The finger nail pin stripe kit my wife has works well and holds on good try that

You have any pics of the front of yours with the round headlights? I might give that a try.
