Default Some DIY Stuff I made... And more to come!

I was sittin around looking online for parts for my scx10 and was thinking to myself "I know how to weld... I'll give this a shot". So I started by making rock rails, check out the pics for the finish product, now I'm moving on to a roof rack and front bumper. I'll keep you guys updated. Enjoy. Oh and if any of you out there want to know how I did this. Please ask questions. If you know how to tig(tungsten inert gas) weld then all you need is some steal or whatever you choose to use.

Nice work, but aren't they really from the ikea kitchen drawer handle range?

Just kidding with you, and I wish I had the stuff to do exactly that,

That's rod, correct? What diameter and what is the material?

Hahah for a minute I thought" it does look like handles". Thanks guys. Zeus.:god, it's 1/4" rod and the roof rack I made is 1/8" rod. the rack still needs some mesh in the bottom of it and they both will get painted black probably.

I would post pics but I used my hands, a hammer, and a vise haha. I was thinking of making a jig out of metal for bending things.

This makes me wish, once again, that I knew how to weld.

That is pretty cool. When I get my garage all cleaned up (I just moved recently), I plan on getting my workbench together and also want to learn some tig welding. The price to make these is probably 1/10 the cost of the the brand names ones, or even less!

Yep that's Mickey hahaha. And yes it's definitely cheaper. Check out the finished product and a bumper I started.

looks good, i personally can only mig weld so im sort of out of luck trying to do little stuff like this unless i want the welds to look like cousin it, with weld wire sticking out all over the place

With the proper settings and a bench grinder you could probably turn out some presentable stuff.

Yes I was going to say that. Mig welding will surprise u if you know how to set it. You know what thought I'm not too sure about the bumper... I kinda want the dingo bumper with a winch even though the bumper I made should fit a winch.

Just sayin' you could probably make some money off of this stuff (with seemingly limited competition). You're good at it, and seem to produce fairly quick. I know I'd fork over some cash for a steel bumper like that (especially if it included a front crossmember).

You don't want a dingo bumper. The worst approach angle. Just work on your approach angles first.
