Default Got my first SCX-10 Dingo a few weeks ago

My boy and I are just getting into the R/C hobby. I am an active full size off-roader so naturally we wanted something for rock crawling. Built the kit and ran it a few times, was not too happy with the way the weight was distributed, so I read the forum and came up with this.

Lowered the battery, flipped the transmission 180* and relocated the electronics to the rear. Will give it a shot in a few days, but running it in the house it looks and rides 100% better

Let us know how it works after you get some real world testing in. I've got my kit mostly together, aside from electronics, and I've been postulating all the different ways to put them in so that I can keep my weight low and up front. What you have looks good.

Addictive isn't the word for it
At least it's easier to modify (and cheaper) than my 98 ZJ

Did you get a chance to run the SCX-10? If so how did it do with everything sitting lower in the chassis?

I was running my battery that way for a wile then i spun it 90 degrees and put it right in front of the trans. Due to the frame sloping down there you get a bit better of cg and weight distribution.Figured id mention it.

5.9? I've been on the lookout for one. These are a LOT cheaper than a ZJ. I have a '95 now.

I bought mtself a Dingo kit for xmas. Now I'm scratch builing a scale TJ with the intention to build up the Dingo (it's a Cherokee now).

My biggest problem was the drivers side lean. Tried switching shocks around and still had it. Looks a lot better now, but will more than likely have to do some more tweaking

I have a 98 4.0 w/125xxx miles on it. She's a beast, that's for sure

X2! The SCX-10 platform feels more balanced and performs better with the battery mounted lower and crossways on the chassis. Fab up some simple "L" brackets and mount the aluminum battery plate near the trans and as low down as possible .
