Default Tom95YJ's SCX10 Cherokee Build

After getting my wife into RC's my MRC has been on the shelf for a couple of years in need of repairs, I have finally got back into crawlers and Picked up a Dingo kit, I plan on using the electronics from my Spec slash on the SCX10.

My goal is to have a 1/10 version of my 1:1 XJ.

Axial SCX10 Dingo Kit

Running gear:

Spektrum DX3E TX
Spektrum 2.4GHZ RX
HiTec 465MG Servo
Castle Creations Sidewinder ESC
Traxxas VXL Motor ( Will Be Swapped with a BL Crawler Motor )
2s Lipo Batteries

Mods:
Cut Tire Foams
1 Strip of Stick on Wheel Weights in Each Wheel (3oz) including spare
1.5 Strips of Stick On Wheel Weights on Rear Cross Member (4.5oz) The rear felt too light after the battery was installed on the front.
Body color is Pactra Racing Orange , and Indy Black.

I have not had too much time to use it between work an a My wife being sick I've been on baby duty. I was going to try to find some local spots today, But it Snowed for a bit an has been raining since it stopped snowing.

The little bit that I have used it I have noticed that I need to tighten my slipper clutch, An find my Castle Link for my ESC so I can Turn on the Drag Brake an Adjust the Throttle Curve an Throttle Punch.

I ordered an aluminum servo arm today after I goofed up an forgot to tighten the screw I had stripped it out. I had also ordered an XJ Body, I plan on starting on a Scale build of my 1:1 . Now this gives me an excuse to get bumpers for the XJ, An install my new lift and sliders that are sitting my closet.

You could bang out a 10th version of that in under 10 min using a cc-01 chassis. Depends how badly you want a "scale" version. An Scx-10 will be your truck, but with monster boggers on it.

I think your chocolate milk went bad.

The rig looks nice, I really like the body.

Nice rig.

I've been considering a dingo kit.
How's it handle at high speeds with that turbo BL setup?
I wondered how the shorter wheelbase would feel with a faster motor/esc...

Thanks for the compliments ,The body did not turn out as nice as I would have liked it (Paint Runs) I feel that the body is a bit top heavy for my liking. I hope my XJ body will help with that issue once it gets here. As for the VXL Power, It crawls ok but that cause my slipper is way too lose I need to find my Castle Link chip adjust my throttle curve an set up my drag brake, With those tweaks I should be able to make a more valid decision on if I keep the VXL or go to a BL Crawler Motor . I was able to use it for about 45minutes yesterday in the pond at my apartment complex that has been drained for the season There are some big slick rock type rocks that are super sticky that it should have climbed right up but the slipper just slipped . When I had to bump over rocks (which was too often it should have just crawled up ) the VXL's wheel speed was really nice.

*Edit*

I went to the LHS today an picked up a new castle link, I had changed the drag brake setting to 213% from 10% an Adjusted the throttle curve. An tightened up the slippper clutch, It crawls much better now I think I can live with the VXL for a bit now

On mine I have the MMP set to 213% drag brake and I'm running a 3S battery. When I had the battery up front and was moving pretty fast I'd just let off the trigger and it would nose dive. I couldn't believe how strong that brake is.

I was suprised how strong it was when I tried it , The damn thing damn near landed on the roof !

I should get my Aluminum Servo Horn today, An my XJ Body tomorrow hopefully the XJ body relives the issue of being so top heavy.
Next thing I buy a new front bumper I have no clue how many times I've been hung up cause that damn thing has zero approach angle

I did not get my XJ body today, But it will be here tomorrow !
If I get time this weekend I will have it painted/trimmed along with All of the windows tinted minus the Front Driver side & Passenger Doors and Windshield

I had also spent a little money on the SCX10 today here's what I bought:

3Racing Steel scale roof rack
Reign RC Tire Rack (Dingo Bumper Mount)
3Racing Winch

I do plan on making some sort of a Bumper Lift bracket for the front bumper out of an old license plate I have laying around to help with the approach angle out.

I got my XJ body today, I had painted it Outlaw Black, An I had tinted the the windows in the cargo area/rear doors. I noticed that it is one detail that most people do skip out on. Once the paint drys I may get around to trimming and mounting the body tonight, If I am upto the task since I am under the weather .

It does look great, I need to get some pics of it which I will do tomorrow. I may trim the factory bumpers a little more on the rear & front. So I can lower it more. But I will wait until I get the tire carrier and winch for it then decide.

Here's the new lid :

I did a little crawling today an I was able to take lines I always flopped on before with the dingo body. But I did have some carnage today, I stripped my output gear. So a Hot Racing Trans upgrade kit is in the works !

They both look sexy. Is the bumper on the 1:1 tweaked?

Yep, Someone backed into the Previous owner an it is bent, I'm not worried about it because it will be replaced with a bumper that looks similar to the stock dingo front bumper minus the tube work and ligt holes.
