Default I am going to Upgrade my Tranmission I need input !

Yesterday I had stripped the output gear cause I had my slipper set too tight while running a brushless motor & lipo battery I want to upgrade my transmission. I am tossed up weather I should run hardened steel gears from Hot racing with the stock the plastic case, or Would I be better off running a The all metal trans from CKRC. that includes the Metal case.

When I do upgrade I will be going to a 32P Pinion/Spur also. I would appreciate some advise from those who have upgraded their Transmissions.

I run Robinson racing gears in a stock case and have had no more tranny failures. It's in a honcho on 2.2's powered by a 23turn motor on a 3cell.

I forgot all about RRP I used RRP Parts on my T-Max. I still like the idea of a metal case for added strength.

i don't think you can mirror any of the aluminum cases if you ever decide to do that. was a factor in my decision.

the rpp gears are definitally worth the cash and work just fine and dandy for a true upgrade, the steel output shafts only add a sliver more metal for added strength, silly idea imo. should of done what rpp did for the additional part axial could of made a few bucks lol. oh well. depends on whether you really got the extra $$ to fork out, the added metal would be extra weight as well. adding weight to the axles is def +++ as well, where as the transmission is pretty high, adding extra weight to it does not effect the tipping point but it still does effect the CoG regardless.

I run the Hot Racing steel gears (all 3 in a set) I was impressed for the price.. Then adding the Axial steel outputs and it's pretty solid. I don't like the one piece Robinson output gear.. Especially if you were to convert to the thru-pin design of the new Axial driveshafts or the Mips for that matter..
