| Re: suspension question They're asking a question not for a stupid comment. A lot of people will just say search but its hard to find if you don't know what to search for. When they run it with out the springs it's called a droop suspension so the axle will fall or droop when it flexes/articulates instead of compressing the spring. It doesn't give more flex though it does flex easier cause it doesn't fight to compress the spring both have benefits and drawbacks its just a preference and style of driving I prefer it with the coil springs with it half way droop best of both worlds, and more like a real crawler too. Well there are threads that say that and it's called reading and connecting the dots. Newbs should be taking initiative and. Trying to learn on their own, not just ask for answers . I'm guessing your one of the ones who just ask and not actually try |

I guess ill step up and answer this TheOgre has the right idea also. Its called a droop setup. There's a small spring under and sometimes over the piston in the shock so that when its sitting flat the truck is full compressed. But when you get hung up for instance, the shocks "droop" out to touch the ground. Pretty much just a reverse shock.

Don't worry about Demonoid. I agree that the only stupid question is the one not asked. I'm a newb as well and feel this should be a place to learn from the experience of others. Feel free to personally ask me any question you have. I don't know everything but I'll bet I can find the answer for you.

I agree that this is a place to learn but not the place to learn the same things a thousand times over. Demonoid has a point there. And searching doesn't just search thread names but posts as well so there is no way that you can't find something this common. This is not the first guy to say "no spring"

for my current build I am doing it for looks. I already have a high-performance machine that compromises scale for flex, so this build is about looking good. It will get driven, but it won't get beat on. |
