Default Honcho - Motor running faster in reverse

Okay, so i recently got a Honcho RTR. Newer version with the WB and Spur cover. My ONLY issue with the truck is my reverse is moving much faster than my forward. I've called Axial, and they want me to send the truck in to them. I'm trying to avoid this. So here is what I've done so far to try and correct this issue after searching for 3 days online and on the phone with Axial.
I have:
Swapped the motor wires(which just makes it run in reverse when I apply throttle) and then I also flipped the throttle reversing switch on the transmitter(which then just acts like I never changed anything...reverse is still faster than forward).
I've recalibrated the ESC before and after swapping wires around also before and after swapping the wires and flipping the throttle reverse switch. I have rebinded my tx to the rx with no luck. I hooked the ESC up to my castle link trying to see if there were any options to adjust in there but the AE-2 is VERY limited on what is able to be toggled with.
I am at a total loss and really don't want to send the truck in to Axial but if I can't get this sorted out by Monday or Tuesday, I think I'll have to.
Any suggestions would be great.
Also, my understanding is that the Wraith uses a reverse rotation motor and/or the ring gears have to be flipped...I don't think that is the case for the Honcho...is it? I look at my motor from the pinion side and it rotates counter clockwise...correct? yes?

You should have a ccw rotating pinion for forwards rotation. Check that. Also, forwards should be a green light.

All else fails, flip your tranny around for a quick way to test it out with a reverse rotating motor.

Thank you for the input John.
I know I have a green light when applying throttle for forwards.
Is a reverse rotation motor fins moving CW?
I see the fins inside the motor moving CCW but have not checked the pinion. COULD the pinion move CW while the fins in side the motor are running CCW? Also, John, would buying a motor with a timing option(Trailmaster Pro 540) take care of this?

A motor with adjustable timing could take care of it if the stock can is wrong for the rig. You could certainly be sure that the motor can be set up for anything you need. Typically Axial provides motors with zero timing, but sometimes specs change a bit or a motor has to be substituted because of availability.

Judge motor rotation by looking at the pinion. Rotation is relative to your point of view, so just stick with one.

How did you make out? My honcho has the same problem and I figured this was normal since this Is my first electric rc. Mine is also the newest version of the honcho RTR.

I called up Axial and they sent me a bind plug. Once I rebound the tx/rx it seemed to work. When I first got the truck the tx/rx were not bound so I used a paper clip to bind it and I think that's where the problem was. Works great now. I love the truck. Thinking of taking of taking the bump stops out of the shocks for more articulationbut worried it will rub the tires and chassis or the servo may rub th e chassis at full articulation..

Just take out the rear stops. Taking out the front causes uneven articulation because of the drag link hitting the frame. Taking out the rear helps a lot.
