Default Honcho scrap blister pak bedsides...

OK... maybe not for everyone...
but I hate throwing useable things in the trash...

Anyway... bought two li-po's
and they came packaged in a blister pack/card.

So... before throwing those into the trash...
thought I'd see what I could do to use them some more first.

The blister paks aren't scale looking by any means...
I only thought to cover the opening that runs thru
and under the flat bed surface. (looks funky to me)

just a couple expectations for me...

...attempt of PTM to the primary body (failed that)

...assure tires do not rub at full articulation

short of the slight paint mismatch... good enough

li-po blister pak similar to mine...

mounting is simply replacing the 6 deck screws (3 per side)
those secure that deck to the cage.

I replaced the original deck screws with similarly sized cap bolts and nuts.
Du-bro 2-56 X 1/2" Cat. No. 310, Nuts = Cat. No. 560

pics of it mounted...

as you can see I didn't spend a much time with it...
I think it looks awrite... maybe a little better with time spent...

but I really want a full std bed... this is just a temporary thang

so tell me how much you hate it !?

it's not rocket science...
so I see no point of pictures showing 6 bolts and nuts securing
hopefully common sense would overcome. Lol

not a bad idea. Way to stay GREEN and use the waste to build new items. Looks good.

You might try slipping the bedsides underneath te diamond plating. It looks low. But good job and super creative!

i've thought about the same thing when i'm tossing various plastic things in the recycle. now that i've seen it, i'd say it looks better than half the attempts some others have made for their Honcho - good job!

^ thanks a bunch for all your comments...

I was definitely looking for this mod, to be cheap to do...
and am fairly pleased with the outcome.
^ ~ still want a full bed tho' ~

Threw my money away, instead, on a Axial Link/Steer. kit, beadlocks, tires
and Axial's wheel weight system/ring(s). (X 8 rings/X 24 weight bars)

I went for another set of the ripshaws...
whereas my son wanted to try the taller Trepador's.

^ ~ two trucks needed outfitting ~

holy cripe that poop was expensive

I'm done buying chit fo' awhile !?

but waiting for someone to mfg'r 1.9 Hankook MT RT03's

cheers

another thang...

thought about making a tailgate/end panel
to tie both rear bedsides together...

maybe some tail lights then.
