Default Mirage's Dingo Kit

The wife got me a Dingo for Christmas, she got tired of me playing Xbox while all of my R/C's sat untouched in the basement. I didn't take too many pictures of the build process as I'm sure everyone knows what a SCX-10 looks like anymore, but here are a few for the heck of it.

Mounted the fuel tank in the rear:

Holes drilled in the front for lots of lighting:

Roof lights mounted, but I'm undecided if they will be staying:

Holes in the rear of the body for more lighting, this is going to be a chore once all my LEDs and resistors arrive...

Electronics mounted and got it painted during the nice weather this week.

Here you can see the fuel tank peaking out of the underside:

The two roof lights are starting to grow on me now:

I mounted a on/off switch for the axial lights, still waiting on a bunch of LEDs and resistors to arrive so I can wire all the lights up on the body. Today was beautiful so I decided to try her out on the rock pile in our landscaping.

Switch location:

The mutt was semi interested until a group of people with dogs came walking by:

And back to the action:

The fuel tank is left over from my F-350 High-Lift. When I put the MFU on it, there is a control module that replaces the fuel tank, so I used part of it to make the tank on the Dingo.

I painted the insides of the light buckets for a little more scale appearance.

I was having trouble getting a lot of interference and glitching using the Traxxas radio system I had, it was brand new from my Slash and had never used it, but it's been sitting for ~3 years. I don't think that was the issue as it worked fine until I turn on the Axial Lights. Once they were on it would glitch like crazy now and then. I figured it was just the frequency so I ordered a 2.4Ghz radio and sure enough, that fixed my problem once it was installed:

TowerHobbies.com | AX80045 Axial Light Bucket Set Black

I used the larger ovals for break lights and painted the lenses using Tamiya clear red TowerHobbies.com | 81527 Tamiya Acrylic Mini X-27 Clear Red 1/3 oz

, and for the side markers I used the smaller ovals painting them with Tamiya clear orange (Amber). TowerHobbies.com | 81526 Tamiya Acrylic Mini X-26 Clear Orange 1/3 oz

I spent some time today wiring up LEDs. I have the headlights, an extra set of driving liights, parking lights in the front and parking lights on the sides done. I just need to do the tail lights and roof mounted lights and it'll be about done.

I used Warm White's for the headlights and driving lights and they look very close to what stock hallogens look like. I'm pretty happy with them, then the roof lights and bumper mounted lights will all look like aftermarket HIDs.

Thanks, The lights in the bumpers are the axial kit that plugs into the receiver. The rest I'm making and will be powered by a 9 volt. It was easier this way so I can remove the body without having wires still connecting it to the rest of the truck. Just makes it easier to change batteries, work on it, etc... Sure I could have made my own that plug into the receiver as well, but I already had the Axial one sitting here....

Gear shifts? No, just light switches:

Perhaps I went a little overboard with the amount of lights on this thing, it works as good as a flashlight now:
