Question To you SCX-10 Pros! ID Needed!

Ok... is this a SCX-10? If it is, Honcho? Dingo? (It's off Prolines site)

Basicly I'm trying to find a Lexan Silverado body to fit a SCX-10 platform. Either the new Wrangler, Honcho or even the Dingo. Pro Line has a 2 MT Silverado body for the Revo's & MAXX rigs.

Here is the specs for both bodies, Please steer me in the right direction so I can buy a new scale rig to match which ever body.

PL Silverado Monster Truck Body Specs

Option 1:
Length: 19.5" (495mm)
Width: 7.0" (178mm)
Height: 5.8" (147mm)
Wheel Base: 13.0" (330mm)

Option 2: (This is what's pictured)
Length: 17.9" (455mm)
Width: 6.5" (165mm)
Height: 5.3" (135mm)
Wheel Base: 11.4" (290mm)

Here is the Dingo's Specs according to Axial's Site Specs:
Wheelbase: 290mm (11.4")
Width: 227mm (9")
Height: 227mm (9")

Here is Wrangler's Specs according to Axial's Site Specs:
Wheelbase: 313mm (12.3")
Width: 229mm (9")
Length: 540mm (21.24")
Height: 229mm (9")

Here is Honchos Specs according to Axial's Site Specs:
Wheelbase: 313mm (12.3")
Width:227mm (9")
Height:150mm (5.9")
Body Length: 457mm (18")
Width without fender flares: 216mm (8.5")
Body Height: 137mm (5.4")

** I guess this is where I ask your personal opinion on which rig & which body would be a perfect fit. Anyone with experience in these options. I would really really appreciate anyone's input. Thank You! **

I don't have any of these rigs, hence this thread. I basically basing this next large purchase on web site "specs" which I've got burned before with... so to answer your question; yes, I do know how to measure my WB.

I assume, a DINGO would be perfect for Option 2 body and a Honcho and/or Wrangler would be be closer to option 1... Just wanted personal exp input from people that have used one of these lexan bodies on their particular rig. Also an ID on the pic. Sorry if it's a stupid question to you. You would think if anyone can read they would know the obvious choice(s).

Dude, I asked you a legitimate question. No need for you to throw the fingers.

You pulled up the specs of the wheel bases for the SCX10 chassis that Axial sells.
All can be adjusted by simply changing the link lengths.

So choosing a shell with close WB dimentions will be fine, just change your link lengths.
But thanks for flipping me off.

it was a smart ass "legitimate question" and you have to agree.. You could have just said "go with the closest WB that matches" or something in that nature. That's like me asking you, "do you know how to read" Anyway, it was a smiley flip off lol. no need to get upset over it. If it makes you feel better;

I'm sorry for flipping you off
/off topic discussion

Anyway, thanks for the input, new to the SCX platform! (as you can tell lol)

So how about the width's though? Even with option 1 or 2 there looks like there is a couple inches of difference there.

No it wasnt a smart ass response. I was telling you to use your noggin.
My god, I guess I need to have sensitivity training now.

Listen, all of you guys here have a right to ask questions. But when you ask questions with results that you posted up that have the answer, you have to use that muscle between your ears.

Now if you want to take that as a smart ass response, well that time it was.

The reason the silverado shell is slim is because its made for the Traxxas trucks where the tires will clearly be outside of the body.

The only way your gonna beable to use a silvy body on a SCX10 chassis is to match the wheel base like I said by extending or shortening your links.

As far as body width goes, you would have to find a body that is substantially wider to be at least half over the tires.

Chances are the wheels are -0 offset to snug them in, but I would bet either they have a Silvy shell coming out and not yet released, or a wider body was used.

Only the width matters. Wheel base can be shortened or lengthened with custom links. It's a lot harder to narrow axles. It comes down to how much you want the fenders to cover your tires, or which body has closest to scale dimensions. Personal preference really.

hmmm.... I wonder if any vendors make fender flares to help eat up some extra width. I should be browsing that section.

Option 1 and a Wrangler looks almost perfect imo. I didn't notice the "option 2" body is an extended cab not a crew. Crew is a must, so I really should be looking for a rig that would match up with the Option 1 body. Wrangler or the Honcho... hmmm I assume they are essentially the same rigs/rtr's just different bodies. Man, it would be pretty cool to find a hard body Silvy crew out there somewhere.. .

Nice! Good to know! Thanks! I'll do a little store exploring before I decide to go Lexan. I appreciate it.

Axial "Dingo" fender flares work well with just about any body. I've got them on a Dodge megacab body. they look great IMO
