Just got this from a friend who wanted something faster. Started as a RTR Honcho then got a Cherokee body and that got cut in half. Then he built a cage on the back and it ended up being a flatbed. It needed some TLC and could use a coat of paint but it is very fun to drive Got a video of it: Scx10 Flatbed Jeep "Old Orange" - YouTube It has AX-3 TX/RX, XL-5 ESC, 55t Lathe motor and a cheapo mg996r servo. Here are some things I fixed. When he had the truck it snapped a C-hub and he bought XR10 ones on accident. I was able to make them work though after checking out the narrow XR mod It also broke a shock cap so zip ties are holding that on Works great! He cut some lugs on the Flat Irons and put some holes in them so I covered them with patches of Duct Tape. Then put a strip around the whole inside of the tires. Since the tires had holes the foams got wet Salvaged the foams after a good cleaning. Both axles had shot output shaft bearings and the drive shafts are stuck on the outputs. So I added a setscrew hole to get at the pin locking the pinion gear in place. Gears are still good after being ran with the shot bearings. Thanks for looking! | Re: High Mileage Flatbed Jeep "Old Orange" Thank you! All it really needs is some front hub bearings and shock caps. For now zip ties are working great but bearings should be soon to come. Right now Old Orange is getting ready for paint Last edited by TheREDCAT; 11-30-2012 at 11:14 AM. |

It's all about having fun Whatever floats your boat. Personally, I kind of like it. Looking the way it does makes it look realistic in some ways

I like the silverado body better, ^^^ what he said haha, maybe trim the backwall of the jeeps cab a bit so it fits better.

She is in really rough shape but still great to drive. Having a great time fixing it up too. The old Jeep body has really grown on me and I don't have to worry about beating it up Still the cheapest rig I have |
