i'm bored 24hr build

Well I have the next day and a half off work..and i'm tired of looking at stuff sitting around not getting put to use.. So I'm going to see if I can put together a runner out of parts I have sitting in the shop.. Its going to be scx based, built to run daily without worrying about scratching it,using the proline commanche two piece body that I almost painted for a local yocal that backed out as I was prepping it to paint, and useable on local creek beds and rock piles...so time to head out to the man cave and put together my pile o parts....

starting to compile my parts..first note to self..find time to clean shop

lets see..isle 1 shocks, isle 2 servo's, isle 3 winch, oppss overlooked the led's..gotta have lights. down in my bargain bin is axles(going to use my alumn axles that have been laying around for a couple years), and of course buried in my rc4wd box is a nice two speed..then over to the frame tub..hmmm there it is,stock scx. Over to the tire department, seems as though I have acquired a tire fetish and finally to the electronics department..lets throw this cheap novak club into it..this should get me started

your work area looks like mine, i just havent collected as much. I have a e10 drift, blitz and a rustler project that all still have to be completed. you inspired me to do such. Im thinking a hilux mini truck. any update on this project yet?

@ditto..I haven't touched cleaning it since soccer started back in June between being a board member,the only one who does maint down there and coaching two teams..lol
@dude...actually I did own a hobby shop, and used to build custom clod tube frames, until a divorce came strolling along.

Yes updates are here, after messing with the links to get the geometry right with the komodo axles, and rearranging the servo mount its coming together nicely.

Next issue I encountered was mounted the r2 2speed without making the skid look butchered. I decided to make a 1/8 adapter plate that used the stock axial trans bolt pattern. Plus it lifted it up enough to clear the frame rails. Turned out rather nice, just wish I had my powder coating stuff together.
I have the novak club system, its a basic 2s 17.5 system I got from the lhs for his cost. I figure for running around it will be perfect. how much more do you need for a basher?

And finally I machined some scale looking hubs, they are thread on style and I just use a pair of soft jaw channel locks to tighten them. It was nice to actually get out to use the mill/lathe again. I did manage to clean them up..lol

yeap blew that one huh
here is a update, had to make a shifting servo bracket..I just cant pay $20+shipping for something that I can make in 10mins.
everything is mounted and wired up. Painting the body now.
