Unless you switch over to a lipo battery, you won't be able to get really long run times without running a massive battery. I am currently running a 2600mah 2S pack. It is lightweight and lasts me for around 1 1/2 hours.

Lipo all the way. Got a 2 and a half hour run time on a turnigy 5000MaH lipo this past weekend. Actually I had more battery left but I was done crawling.

I would say 150% switch to LiPo. Get a castle BEC set at 6volts and you can run 3s LiPo all day with no issue.
Just think of the mah rating like the size of a gas tank. 5000mah will run longer then 2200mah. 3s will give more power then 2s . Good luck. But once you go LiPo you will never want to run the old NiMh packs again.

+1 on a bec and 3s! I get about 2+ hours on a 4000 mah 3s and like others have said once you go lipo you never go back! Same goes for the difference between 2s and 3s.

guess you could say, the higher volts, the higher octane fuel, the higher aH, the bigger the gas tank.

Well I usually run my truck, everywhere that has obstacles and dirt/mud, hill climbs, it's an all purpose trail truck. I guess I've got to look into a lipo.
