| a quick 4 link ?
hey guys I"m in the process of doing the four link swap in the front of my rubicon rtr I ran into one problem mounting the link on the inside of the chasis under the motor I can get the link on the screw but can not get the nut on and tight because of the motor being in the way do I have to adjust the motor o get the nut on and tight and then reposition the motor or is there an easier way to do this thanks guys. |

I reversed that screw so the nut is on the outside because the nut and extra threads were actually in the way from letting me adjust my gear mesh properly. I also drilled that hole in the tranny mount so I don't have to thread it all the way through. Taking the motor out is a must either way (for me atleast) but now that screw is easy to get in and out.

turn the screw in until there is just enough thread for the link and one or two threads showing. hold the nut on with your finger and tight until you need pliers then tighten till the screw bottoms out on the chassis. release the nut and loosen and the screw until the nut snugs up to the ball end. now hold the nut with pliers again and tighten the last little bit.

If that does not work remove the transmission. It's only 4 screws.

Yup trans is probably easier than messing with the motor. Especially if you have the gear lash nicely dialed in |

thanks guys I dropped the tranny a little in order to get the nut on and tight but it seems after I placed the battery up front, did the 4 link and had to raise the body posts so the body cleared the battery it seems like it took some travel away from the front end also since the esc really would not fit correctly on the side of the radio box due to the battery tray now up front I mounted inside the frame rails at the back on the four link bars I did remove the bumpstops from all four shocks hoping to get out ann wheel it in the nezxt day or two and see how she does. |

I find that one particular nut (and a few others here and there) goes on easiest by holding it with a pair of needle-nose pliers.
