Angry MIP drive shafts

hey guys new to the forum, been rcing for 30 yrs. already improved my game, reading here for last couple of months. thanks!!! HELP, here goes. my first question!!! just installed mip driveshafts on my scx10 honcho, now am installing 43t/13t bevel gears & the pin for the 13t shaft is too small for the hole in mips (no flat spot on shaft for setscrew). plus the hole in the 13t shaft doesnt match up. do i have to use stock driveshafts or not use the 43t/13t gears or hold my mouth a certain way or what?

I've used 2 set screws, a single traxxas t/e maxx set screw and a pair of t/e maxx screws with the shank cut down so they lock the pinion down solidly. No failures to date with any setup I've used but I do believe the cut down shank setup to be the best over all.

cut down shank. you mean the flat spot on the shank or you shorten the shank?

Not sure of the part # but I'm pretty sure I use what Erbing posted.

They're drive shaft pins for the E-Maxx & E-Revo. The threaded part is 4mm like MIP and the pin/shank is 3mm to slide through the output shaft.

The only mod I found necessary is to dremmel the excess off, it sticks out a little after assembly because the Traxxas pins are longer than you need.

Here's a copy paste from by build thread

One pack would have been enough but I wanted spares so I bought 2 packs.

The Associated pins are a little long which is ok for 3 of them but I had to shave about 1/16" off of the one under the transmission due to clearance issues. No biggie. Picture of the end of the pin sticking out.
