Default My first Axial based drive train...

Building a one off scaler for my dad, sitting on creeper axels for now (will upgrade later). Using a stock scx10 trans and 15t brushed motor and the matching ESC (2s max) out of a TH. The whole things sits on 1.9s and I am not sure what spur/pinion combo I should go with. We need to maintain some crawl ability but I want to make sure he has wheel speed too (doubt that will be an issue). Any suggestions on a good starting point?

Try any combo that gets you a 4:1
I run a 32pitch 56t/14t with a 35turn brushed
That should get you in the ballpark for starts
