Default Sidebar mods?

Are there any mods for the sidebars to make them more errrr slick? I seem to find these get hooked up a lot and are more of a hindrance than a aid. But I also don't want to just removed them and be damaging the body.

You can do that . . . or go like this. Holding up the side bar for the difference.

That looks good V.

Trimming the side bars does not remove the culprit. The bar is fine it's when rocks get hooked in the mounts behind the bar and the recesses. I was wondering if there was a simple way to plate these....

I have seen people wrap them with thin aluminum or steel. I used street sign on mine and although it would be hard to form to the rails, you could use that. It slides really well. But I do not believe any route is simple.

I like your idea. I think I'll remove the stock ones and get my brother to cut and bend some thin steel plate he has. :-) Was a little frustrating at times today when a great climb was ruined due to them getting hooked. It just causes the truck to swing in a different direction. A lot of the rocks here in the UK are very jagged. I'm envious of some of the terrain I see in the vids from the US. Wind swept round boulders and pits....ah the dream.

Jagged gives better traction. Here in southern Idaho we have a lot of lava fields and such. Some jagged and some rounded. Best of both worlds. When you add the plate, it does change your COG and balance a bit, so you might be prepared to move electronics and/or battery to balance it back out. Post some pics of it smoothly running over a sheep when your done.
