| Scx10 front bumper mod
Hi, I just did an improvement to upon my bumper mod. The material is plate steel that I cut out with tin snips. Originally this mod raised the bumper 20mm which I found to be to high and it allowed the bumper to pivot back towards the grill of the body smashing the light buckets.- not good. The height difference is now around 14 mm hole to hole. So I drilled a lower mounting hole and put an 90 degree fold at the top of the mount to prevent the bumper rotation. I also added another lower mounting point as well. Very easy to do, works great, cheap, looks good and still protects the front end. I didn't have the blank slug to mount between the rails for extra support so I used some styrene in the meantime until I'm able to fab something. The purpose of all this is to improve the coveted "approach angle" I know others have done this, just thought I'd share my version Last edited by Demodude; 04-16-2013 at 01:08 PM. |

I like the way you did this. It is way too late for my bumper because I had the same problems, but my bumper gave up and broke a few weeks ago. I would have used this if I had known about it. Thanks for sharing.

I did the same thing to raise the bumper up on my F350 scx10. Works like a charm and makes for a huge improvement. |

I have a new home-made bumper that cures the problem, but yeah it would have been nice.
